Short answers

Common Questions Before You Schedule

If a question is keeping you from calling, start here. If the answer depends on your health history or insurance policy, this page will say so instead of guessing.

Not here?

Reading is fine, and calling is a fair reason too if a question is still blocking you.

Common questions

Do you take insurance?

Spine & Motion is a cash-pay office, so patients pay the clinic directly. If you hope to use auto-insurance coverage, health-plan benefits, reimbursement, or another payment source, ask your own insurer or plan what your policy allows. Ask the office what an evaluation or proposed care costs before you agree to it.

Do I need a referral to make an appointment?

You can call the office directly to ask about an appointment. If reimbursement from an insurance plan matters to you, check whether your own plan requires a referral or prior authorization before it will pay anything.

Is the popping sound my bones cracking?

No. A joint can make a cavitation or popping sound as pressure changes during movement. The sound itself is not the goal of care and is not a reliable measure of whether a treatment worked.

Is chiropractic care safe?

Many people experience only temporary soreness, stiffness, or headache after spinal manipulation, but serious complications have also been reported and are considered very rare. Your health history and the part of the spine being treated matter. Ask about risks, alternatives, and why a procedure is being recommended. See NCCIH's spinal manipulation overview.

How many visits will I need?

There is no responsible universal number before an examination. The plan should depend on what is found, how you respond, what functional goals matter to you, and whether meaningful progress is occurring. If progress stalls, the plan should be reassessed rather than continued automatically.

Chiropractor or physical therapist?

There can be overlap. Chiropractic care often emphasizes evaluation and hands-on care for musculoskeletal complaints, while physical therapy commonly emphasizes rehabilitation and progressive exercise. The better fit depends on the problem, the clinician, and what the examination shows. Some people appropriately use both at different points.

What should I wear to a visit?

Wear comfortable clothing that allows normal movement. If the office needs anything more specific for the kind of visit you are scheduling, ask when you call.

Do you treat children or provide pregnancy-related chiropractic care?

The current website does not have verified information establishing those services. Call the office and ask before scheduling. Do not assume availability from a general chiropractic website.

Still Have a Question?

For general care, read what chiropractic care can and cannot reasonably claim. For a first visit, see what to expect. If a car accident started the problem, use car accident care.
